About BGAN

Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) is an L-Band geo-stationary satellite-based broadband network.

Small, lightweight mobile and portable terminals provide data rates at up to 492 Kbps for access to on-demand IP broadband data, guaranteed Streaming IP data averaging 650Kbps and simultaneous SMS and voice capabilities, as part of a secure, reliable and cost-effective solution.

Global coverage - with the exception of the extreme polar regions - is provided by three I-4 satellites plus Alphasat, delivering services with 99.9 per cent satellite and ground network availability for Land, Maritime and Aero markets.
